No. But do your best to implement as many as possible and really work at improving each. The more dedicated you are to implementing the strategies, the better your chances of seeing exponential personal growth this year.

1. Get Comfortable with the Uncomfortable

Personal growth is a process of enhancing your life, and it can come in many forms — health, mindset, career, financial, you can fill in the blank with whatever area you want to improve. But nothing changes if nothing changes. The things that make you uncomfortable are what you need to focus on. When you’re uncomfortable about something, you shy away from it. There’s no personal growth in avoidance.

Get used to being comfortable with being uncomfortable. Those are the situations you need to be in to see the best personal growth possible.

Read, listen to audiobooks, watch informative videos on YouTube — it doesn’t matter. The key is to become an autodidact. You want to become a self-learner if you wish to see personal growth. Dive deep into a topic and learn as much as possible to help you reach your goals.

As much as we wished we could put a book under our pillow and, through osmosis, learn something new overnight, it’s going to take time to enhance your knowledge and skillset, but that’s simply part of the process, and most people aren’t willing to do it, which is why they don’t see any personal growth. Instead of watching Netflix all night this year, focus on learning something new that will improve your life.

3. List Your Goals and Your Game Plan

A mistake many make is not writing down their goals and strategy of how they’re going to accomplish their goals. Decide what you want to improve this year to achieve personal growth and create a blueprint of how you will get there.

Make sure your goals are measurable, realistic, attainable, and something you’re truly passionate about and want to achieve because YOU want to achieve them. Don’t set a goal because your boss, family member, or friend told you it’s something you should do. You need an intrinsic reason to put in the time and effort.

4. Understand That You Won’t Please Everyone

Are you someone who wants to please everyone? You don’t want anyone to say anything bad about you? Let me ask you a question. Do you also feel that people walk all over you and take advantage of you? When striving for personal growth, understand that you won’t please everyone — and that’s OK! People will respect you more for standing your ground and not giving in to everyone’s wants and needs. There will be times where you can’t go out with friends because you’re focusing on your personal growth and need to get some work done. Don’t make decisions based on how someone else will feel, focus on making the decision that best fits the solution to your problem.

Being that you won’t please everyone all the time, look at your circle of influence and the people you hang out with. Do they party all the time? Go out drinking a few times a week? Are they fine being average and are comfortable in their life barely making an impact? If so, good for them. But you’re striving for something greater.

They say you are the average of the five people you hang around with the most. Hang around with people with poor habits, you’ll be the sixth. It’s time to let go of some people in your life if you want to make it to the next level. It’s going to be hard, and you don’t need to cut them out completely, but find people to bring into your circle who share the same dreams and aspirations for personal growth. Look for people who are smarter than you who you can learn from.

6. Adopt Healthy Habits

One of the best things you can do to improve your personal growth is to focus on adopting healthy habits. Get in shape. Make time to exercise. Drop some body fat. Improve your nutrition. This combination will not only provide you with enhanced energy to get more done during the day, but it will also help improve your cognition and overall brain health.

Schedule workouts into your calendar and focus more on preparing healthy and wholesome meals. What you put into your body is what you’ll get out of it. Put in junk, and you’ll feel like junk.
