Through the Eyes of a BEAST #7

My best portrayal in scribing down the chaos that goes through my mind on paper. My personal thoughts and muses with simple and complex notions on an ever long journey to become Big, Strong, Fit, Healthy—to become a Beast. Entry #7 “Team Work Makes the Dream Work” When people think “bodybuilding” or “powerlifting” or “training” or “running”, they think it’s 100% individual effort. Now I can’t speak for everyone, but what I do is bigger than me—although my niche is in bodybuilding, I look to inspire from the most elite athlete to the person who doesn’t know the difference between their quad and their bicep.  On the flip side, it’s a game of give and take—I want to be inspired and be motivated. Sure, when I’m training, when the weight is on my back, it is 100% me.  It’s mentally all me, it’s physically all me.  There’s no one to push me, no one to help me if it crushes me—it’s all me. When I’m fighting temptation as I pass fried foods and baked goods; ice cold sodas and ice cream cones—it’s all me. When I wake up before the sun rises to prepare my food for the day, eyes still heavy, body is sore and muscles are stiff—it’s all me. But when I step into my house and I get the embrace on my parents—when I turn on my phone and I get messages and comments and questions and thank you’s—when I step on stage and I hear my family and my friends yelling and cheering and hooping and hollering for me… it turns out, it isn’t all me. You need a support system.  You need that extra motivation when your carbs are low, when you’re tired and you’re aching—you need a pick me up. You need a team in this sport.  Honestly, you need a team in any aspect of life—none of us can stay strong 24/7, we all have our off days. My family, my friends, my team—I’m inspired and motivated by them and they are the foundation of which my successes are built upon.    width= Danny Quach is a graduate of the University of Georgia where he majored in Health Promotion and Behavior.  He’s a powerlifter at heart and has done it for over six years.  He just competed in his first bodybuilding show in Summer of 2011.  For powerlifting, he holds some Georgia records.  In his first bodybuilding competition, he placed 2nd in Novice in INBF Southern States.  His favorite past-time?
