Healthy Eating On The Road

Finding a gym or squeezing in a workout on the road can be a battle of its own, but what about the other part... food. Healthy eating on the road can be challenging. For me, preparing and packing meals ahead of time is the best solution, but what's plan B? I’ve put together some tips and tricks I follow while I’m traveling. 1. Throw some snacks in your bag: Protein bars, rice cakes, granola. You can find these at almost every gas station or airport, but remember to do that before jumping on the plane. The snacks you can buy on the plane are very limited on nutrients. 2. Pack a serving of oatmeal and a scoop of protein in a ziplock bag. I do this all the time! I'll find a coffee shop and order hot water and make my oatmeal right there. Normally I like to add chocolate Beast Whey because I have a sweet tooth, but you can do vanilla and toss a little dried fruit and nuts into the mix. 3. Every restaurant has chicken. You can always sit down somewhere and order a clean meal. Whether it be chicken and rice, lean steak and veggies, you can always put together your own clean meal. Just remember to specify how to cook it. I tell them dry, a lot of places like to cook with butter and oils. 4. Google. The internet is everyone's best friend these days. There are a lot of companies popping up in cities that cook and prep meals. Search your area and see if there is a company that will deliver the meals right to you! Remember, your diet is just as important as the time you spend in the gym. To be successful you need a balance of both.
