Change For A Happier And Healthier Life

Posted by Katie Chung Hua on

Small Changes - Make a change for a happier and healthier life! Even small changes can improve your health, like finding healthy alternatives of your favorite goodies or adding more lemon to your diet. Eating healthy doesn’t mean food has to taste bad or you can’t enjoy yourself. For example, when baking use applesauce instead of sugar or when having a BBQ, have hummus dip in place of ranch.  Also, adding lemon to your diet can do amazing things. Lemon helps decrease inflammation, aids in digestion, provides a ton of vitamin C and flushes out toxins - among other things.

Buddy System - Take a friend to the gym and sweat, even if it’s only for 15 minutes. Working out releases endorphins and relieves stress. Adding a workout partner to the mix holds you accountable, but make sure to find someone that’s encouraging and wants to see you succeed.

Set Attainable Goals - Being ambitious is great, but you also want to be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Don’t let yourself get discouraged. Set short-term goals along with your long-term ones. Reaching those goals will give you a sense of accomplishment and keep you motivated.

Focus On Yourself - With social media these days, it’s extremely hard not to get wrapped up in what others are doing. Stop comparing yourself to others. One of the best things I heard was that we compare our weaknesses to others’ strengths. Focus on your goals and your progress and you will find yourself a lot happier with the results.

Be Resourceful - Use the stairs over the escalator or don’t park in the closest parking spot possible. Look for ways you can burn extra calories in your day-to-day activities.

Find Something You Love - Whether it be working out, painting, or volunteering, find something you love and make time for it. Enjoy yourself. At the end of the day life is meant to be lived and to be happy.
