Protein Gingerbread Cookies

For the holidays, you can definitely stay waist friendly with your favorite childhood delights. One of my favorite delights as a child was a gingerbread cookie with a tall glass of milk in a frosted mug! You can bulk up these gingerbread men with a little bit of protein and healthy alternatives, for modern and healthy protein gingerbread cookies. Yolked Gingerbread Men Ingredients
  • 5 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup vanilla Beast Whey protein powder shake mix
  • 1 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1 Tbsp. ground ginger
  • 1 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup butter substitute, melted and cooled
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • Almond Milk (unsweetened/original)
Directions 1. In one medium bowl, Mix together the flour, baking powder, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and cinnamon. Set aside. 2. In another medium bowl, mix together the butter substitute, molasses, brown sugar, water, egg whites, and vanilla until smooth. 3. Pour in the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. 4. Roll dough into a flat ball. Cover in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2-3 hours. 5. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). 6. On a lightly floured baking pan, roll the dough out to 1/4 inch thickness. 7. Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters or add your own twist by adding a few muscles to each man 8. Bake for 8-10 minutes in the preheated oven. (during this time place a tall glass in your freezer) 9. Take out cookies from oven let them cool (as hard as it may be) 10. Take out the glass from the freezer and pour in the Almond Milk 11. Enjoy the tasty treat *If you have left overs (which is very rare), leave some for Santa! we all know he could use a little more protein in his diet!*
